Mayor Pro-Tem Becky Humphrey called the meeting to order and Commissioner Weaver offered invocation. Tracy Sullivan, Town Clerk called the roll.
Commissioner Gibson, Commissioner Jenkins, Commissioner Weaver and Commissioner Hamm. Town Administrator, Robert Masters and Town Attorney, David Orcutt were also present.
APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES
Commissioner Hamm made the motion to approve the minutes of the Regular Meeting held on June 3, 2008 and the Special Called Meeting held on June 5, 2008. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Gibson. The motion carried.
Tracy Sullivan, Town Clerk reported the Bank Balances.
CITIZENS PETITIONS AND COMPLAINTS
Bruce Hall – Mr. Hall was concerned about the sewer lift station located near his house in Taylorwoods Subdivision. He reported that the station would alarm at all hours of the night and employee response time was slow.
Robert Smith insured Mr. Hall that the problem would be handled by installing a call box at the sewer lift station to dispatch the employee on call.
James Walker – Mr. Walker stated that he would like to see some progress made on the Annie Beasley park. He was concerned that the children had no where to play in the Wilson County section of Town.
Mr. Masters asked Mr. Walker to meet with him to discuss possible alternatives due to the close proximity of Annie Beasley Park to the railroad tracks.
Ms. Hurdle – Ms. Hurdle stated to the Board that she thinks there is a for more Police Officers on duty.
a. Commissioner Gibson made the motion to adopt the Memorandum of Understanding
regarding the Rural Planning Organization for Edgecombe, Johnston, Nash and Wilson
Counties. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Jenkins. The motion carried.
b. Commissioner Weaver made the motion to approve Robert Masters, Town
Administrator to sign dual signature checks for the Town of Sharpsburg.
Commissioner Jenkins seconded the motion. The motion carried.

Commissioner Jenkins read the Parks and Recreation report.
Chief Bissette read the police report.

Commissioner Gibson made the motion to go into closed session to discuss personnel matters pursuant to N.C.G.S. 143-318-11(a). Commissioner Weaver seconded the motion. The motion carried.
Commissioner Jenkins made the motion to return to open session. Commissioner Gibson seconded the motion. The motion carried.
