Government

The Town of Sharpsburg governs under the Mayor-Council form of government.  The Town Council consists of the Mayor and Five Commissioners. The Mayor serves a 4-year term.  The Town Council elected at large serve staggered 4 year terms as well.

The Town Council meets for its Regular Business Meeting the First Tuesday of the each Month.  The Agenda meeting starts at 6 PM with the Regular Meeting starting at 6:30 PM.  There is time set aside for citizens to be heard during the meeting as well as presentations, special recognition's and public hearings on different matters to come before the Council.
