Wilson County

The Town of Sharpsburg is located within the Eastern tip portion of Wilson County North Carolina. Wilson County is where smallest portion of the Town limit of Sharpsburg is located.

Within Wilson County lies the City of Wilson, one of the fastest growing cities in North Carolina, which has a population of nearly 50,000. Wilson also has one of the best economic makeups of any city in eastern North Carolina. Major companies in Wilson include Firestone Tires, Purdue Pharmaceuticals, Merck Pharmaceuticals and countless tobacco based industries.

Additional towns in Wilson County include the Towns of Black Creek, Lucama, Stantonsburg and Sims among others. Interstate 95, US Highway 264 Bypass, Interstate 795 and US Highway 301 all serve as major routes through and to the area. This allows for easy transport of cargo and an easy commute to work from Sharpsburg.
